A thing every woman desires is long, luxurious thick hair. In today's society, hair extensions are becoming more and more common. They are an instant way to add thickness, volume and length within minutes. The most common lengths are 20" and 22". Most 20" sets are 160 grams, and 22" mostly come in 160 and 220 grams.
I had known about Bombayhair for a while through Instagram, but don't have the extra $200 to drop on hair, and wasn't sure about the quality. There have been many hair extension companies that send hair out to "famous" youtubers and IGers, but when people actually purchase a set from them, the hair is far from good quality.
Bombay Hair is a hair extension company located in Richmond, BC. I like that it's a Canadian company, so I knew shipping would be quite a bit faster. Their prices are very comparable, in fact I find their prices are cheaper than most hair extension companies! And if you happen to have a coupon code, boom. More saving $$$. Something that I really like about the company, and is the reason why I ordered from them, is that they sell individual wefts that are 7" wide(4 clips) 50 grams, and 22" long. I wasn't sure of the quality of the hair, and I thought this would be a great(and cheaper!) way to test the quality. The price of one 7" weft is 39.95, and I had a coupon code for $10 off. The colour I ordered was "Espresso". With shipping I paid less than $40.
I was EXTREMELY pleased with the shipping, I've never experienced such fast shipping! I placed my order on a Friday morning, and by 2:00 that afternoon it had already left the warehouse. The following Monday evening I received my package. It literally took ONE business day! Normally orders placed online take a day or two to process through before a company even ships out the product, so I was very happy with the service.
I had already owned a set of extensions, which were about 5 years old and purchased off Ebay for $40. Needless to say, not the best quality. I think they claimed to be a 120 gram set, which I'm positive isn't. Below I compared my natural hair to ONE 7" 4 clip weft of the Ebay hair, and the ONE 7" 4 clip weft of Bombay hair. I'll just let the picture speak for itself in the difference in quality of the hair.
When I opened up my Bombay Hair, I was shocked to see how thick it is for just being one weft! It's completely thick from ROOT to TIP, and I honestly have had NO shedding at all, which is amazing. I'm always worried about hair extensions starting out looking nice, and shedding&turning thin within months of use(exactly what happened to my Ebay hair.) Below is the entire Ebay set vs. the ONE weft of Bombay hair to show the thickness of this hair!
Overall I'm very pleased with these extensions. I've owned them for over a month now and still have found no shedding, the hair has not turned dry, and it responds to heat well (stays curled, stays straight). The hair is naturally straight, with a bit of wave at the bottom and near the wefts so straightening really isn't an issue. The extensions are super soft even with use, and using product on them, which shows they are a great quality of hair. When I have the money I will be purchasing the "Bombay Bombshell" extensions, which are 20" and 160 grams for $159.95. The one problem I found with this hair, and what after reading&watching reviews others have had too, is the colour of "Espresso". When I opened it, it was a lot lighter than I had expected. My hair is a very dark brown, almost black..what I would personally consider an Espresso colour. Bombay Hair's version of Espresso is almost a medium Chestnut/Chocolate brown, which is unfortunate. Thankfully it is human hair, so I will probably just dye it eventually. For now I've been mixing it with my Ebay set which I dyed some pieces black and some pieces a very dark brown to blend. Below is a comparison of the colours in front of a window on my floor.
